On 7th February 2025, the Department of Psychology marked a significant milestone with the splendid inauguration of "Tranquil Odyssey", our newly established Psychology Association. The ceremony was graced by the esteemed presence of Mr. Mohammed Junaid, Head and Assistant Professor of Psychology at Government College, Mankada, who officially inaugurated the association amidst great enthusiasm from students and faculty alike.

On 14 November 2024, our institution hosted a  awards ceremony to recognize and honor the outstanding achievements of MSc Psychology students (2022-2024 batch) who demonstrated exceptional academic excellence. The prestigious event was graciously inaugurated by our esteemed Principal, Prof. Ibraine, whose inspiring words set the tone for this momentous occasion.

From October 21st to November 20th, 2024, the Department of Psychology organized a comprehensive 10-day NET Coaching Crash Course, specially designed to equip our MSc Psychology students with the knowledge and strategies needed to excel in the National Eligibility Test. This rigorous academic initiative brought together our brightest minds in an intensive learning environment focused on examination success.


SUICIDE PREVENTION DAY

 Suicide Prevention Day

On 10th September 2024, the college came together to observe Suicide Prevention Day, fostering a supportive environment to raise awareness and encourage open conversations about mental health. A poignant highlight of the event was the "Opinion & Signature Wall," where students and faculty shared their thoughts, pledges, and messages of hope. Esteemed dignitaries, including College Manager Jb Ali Haji, NP, Principal Prof. K. Ibraine, and HoD Dr. Krishnakumar, inaugurated the wall with heartfelt messages, inspiring students to prioritize mental well-being. Their participation set a powerful example, followed by enthusiastic engagement from faculty members and students alike.

From October 14th to 18th, 2024, our institution proudly observed Mental Health Week, extending the spirit of World Mental Health Day (October 10th) which coincided with Vijayadasami. Under the visionary guidance of Dr. Krishnakumar M., Head of the Department of Psychology, our postgraduate students spearheaded an enriching Life Skills Development Program for students of 11th and 12th standards at MSI Higher Secondary School. This meaningful initiative, designed as an extension service to the community, aimed to equip adolescents with essential skills to navigate the complexities of modern life with confidence and resilience.

On October 3rd, 2024, the Department of Psychology orchestrated an enriching cognitive skills development program titled 'Cognitive Skills for Adolescents', a joint venture by the Women's Development Cell (WDC) and Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC). The event marked a significant step in fostering intellectual growth among students through innovative pedagogical approaches.The program commenced with an inaugural address by Prof. Ibraine, Principal, who highlighted the crucial role of cognitive development in academic and personal success.
